Jul 29, 2015 - Gutenberg Museum & Vallorbes Grottes

Our first day of rain. Lots of it! I think Blenheim will now be about the same temperature as what we were today. Good for climatising ourselves to winter.... So no to any trips up the top of mountains for today. But guess what? Perfect weather for seeing the Gutenberg museum that we have been planning to see since we were thinking of things to do in Fribourg way back in Blenheim. This was a special day really. We experienced two wonderful local things to do. The museum which we went to late morning was fantastic. This was in the middle of...

Despite getting up at 6.00, it was nearly 8.00am before we actually got away from the Quinten's warm home and onto the motorways for our trip to Italy. Goodness knows why it took that long. Maybe we should have aimed for leaving at 6.00 instead of 7.00.... then we might have got away at 7.00! So we headed off down towards Lac Leman again (we're getting to know...

A pleasant and hot afternoon in Fribourg..... Pieter took a day off work today so he could be with us on our last day with them for over a week. Tomorrow we head away by ourselves to Italy so it was great he could get the day off work. We had a relaxing morning, catching up over breakfast and enjoying not rushing anywhere. Pit, Alex and the younger kids took the bikes down to the local hardware store and ended up being away several hours, as they biked there and back through the forest. They didn't manage to find what they wanted and the...

Jul 7, 2015 - Fribourg

Visit to nearest town - Fribourg Today Alex and I went on an adventure by ourselves! Marina and the kids were tired out after yesterday, and so was Johanna so when we said we'd like to go and see Fribourg today Johanna begged to stay home with the Quintens. Pit started work so early today, 6am as he wants to take Friday afternoon off so we can all go to France to his mother's place near Grenoble so he had left early. Marina wanted to do some shopping at the Coop so she was thankful to have Johanna here to stay with the kids while she did...
