We are excited as we head toward our first sites of the rugged Switzerland we have come all this way to see. But first a couple of historic sites to visit on the way. Swiss guns, and cheese await us. Day 3: Enchanting Bus Travel, Tours and Dinner Engelberg Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. Aug 15, 2012 - Lucerne 2

Lucerne Day 2 Mt Pilatus- named after pontious pilate who died there. took a gondola up way up 4 to a gondola and then 25 into a larger gondola. unbelievable views ..you think you are on top of the world! Rick walked up to the very top of the mountain and took grreat pics. went down the mountain in a cog wheel train..also nice but height a little different. lots of cows with cow bells on. Hang gliders are up on the mountain too. lovely to watch as they run off the cliff and fly through the air. Cog wheel train ride..fun to go down...

Gertzi! travelled from Nice France to Edelberg Switzerland today. long bus ride but good scenery. The mountains are unbelievable here ..they are sooooo high! went straight to a boat and had a tour of Lake Lucerne which shows tiny houses scattereed throughout the mountaintop and lots of greeenery. only 40% of people own their homes here..rates too high.they make around 70,000 francs a year before taxes. We left Zurich this morning and drove to Engelberg. Engelberg is where Mount Titlis can be found and it has the first revolving aerial cable car in the world going up to its peak. It is also the highest peak in central Switzerland, at 3020 metres high. Shayne and Sara caught the cable car up to the top but I just didn’t have it in me today – I think I’m getting a cold and feel terrible.
