Aug 16, 2016 - Glaciers, flowers and a vertiginous path

Overview Yves and I did the walk today as Bettina was busy with other things. So we took a route he can't normally do as Bettina gets vertigo. I kept my fingers crossed I wouldn't suddenly get it!! After catching the 2 cable cars we were at over 2800m where we had a great view over the Plaine Morte glacier. We climbed a little higher to the 'football' communications station which looked very futuristic. From there we descended steeply down slippery shale like slopes and at times across snow. Aug 15, 2016 - A waterfall walk above Crans

Overview Bettina, Yves and I walked on one of the routes in the mountains above their chalet. We passed numerous waterfalls and traversed various types of surfaces including some shale slopes and climbs up some more rocky areas. At one point I tripped and fell. Luckily it was a wide path at that point. I discovered (after almost tripping again ) that I had caught my boot on the laces of my other boot. Easy to fix!! Aug 14, 2016 - Day 2. Tour du Chavalard

Overview A relatively good night's sleep was had by all. Packed up ... ensuring we folded our duvets and placed them on the beds as per the diagram behind the bedroom door ! After breakfast we were off again taking a large circular route high along the side of the Rhone valley. There was some climbing again but much of the return was on high narrow paths, inappropriate for those with vertigo. Luckily not me! I was very happy to stop at a mountain restaurant on the way back for a rest and a drink. I suspect all the wine from night before was...
