OK, so this is the big highlight for Jenny. Our trip was all planned around this festival in her home town. Its pretty much alot of concerts by local bands and performers over three days. Jen was really looking forward to bumping into old friends while wandering around the town throughout the festival. Jul 15, 2011 - Thursday 14th- First day of Karnevalen

Another late start with breakfast at 11 - its starting to become the norm so far! Packed our bags and headed off to Landskrona. Jen took us the long way so she could show me where she grew up, old school and hang outs. Jul 14, 2011 - Wednesday 13th July- Driving test

So today its been organised that I get to do part of the driving test that the Swedes do as part of getting their driving test. I had no idea what to expect and was quite excited about doing this. Its conducted at the local race track so I was hoping it would involve a few hot laps but sadly no. It is more of a safety and awareness course and was really quite interesting as it was all practical tests and no real theory (apparently that is a different day that is all theory- glad I wasnt included in that!) HAd to head out to get more credit for the internet for work and so I can keep doing these journal updates. The buggers here wont let you add credit online or over the phone, you have to actually head into one of their stores to do it which sucks! Anyway, headed to the shops did that and grabbed some stuff for lunch at home. Jul 12, 2011 - Sunday 10th July

BIt of a quiet day today. The plan was to go out for lunch so I could experience a Swedish smorgesboard with all the different swedish foods etc but unfortunately Marie wasnt feeling too well. Used the time instead to reasearch and book flights to London for the 19th and accomodation for the night when we get there. Prices are fine getting there but nearly 4 times as much to return so we are looking into other ways of getting back (possibaly by train and ferry) and the chance to see something different. Will worry about getting home I guess...

Jul 8, 2011 - Wednesday- Liseberg

Jens a little excited as we are going to Liseberg today. Its a big theme park full of rides and amusements etc and we are going with Michael, Marie, Frida and Robin. Today also happens to be Robins birthday so we are actually heading into town first to get him a present while he is at work - he works as a truck driver but is able to finish today at 12. Poor bugger, we had him out till late the night before and then he was up at like 5am to start work today. We all had a bit of a sleep in and the day didnt actually start till about 11 but...

Jul 8, 2011 - Thursday 7th

Today the plan is to leave Gotenberg and head back to Marie and Michaels place. Woke up and Frida and Robin both had already left for work which is a pitty as we didnt get to say good bye to them and thank them for letting us stay at there place. I usually write these entries first thing in the morning for everything that happened the day before. Sitting here scratching my head trying to remember what we did all day- I remember that it ended having beers at a place called the Dancing Dingo...... umm.... umm........ Jul 5, 2011 - Monday 5th- Gotenberg

Today we are heading to Goteberg to see Frida, another of Jens cousins and Michael and Maries daughter. We didn’t get away quite as early as hoped as their little dog needed to go to the vet and have a few tests. Worked out well asI actually had a bit of work to do on the computer anyway. We managed to get away a little after 12 for the 3 hour drive. We stopped into a roadhouse for lunch and the food there wasn’t too bad considering. Coming into Gotenberg it really is a massive place. Woke up on the lounge feeling fine from the night before with Tommy and Nina. Tommy however said he was struggling and thought he was still drunk. Got up and headed out to some shops that Jen wanted to have a look around. We got there at 9 and planed to have breakfast there but the shops here don’t open till 10 on Saturday- needless to say we had no problems finding a car park……. Not much there and we headed into Malmo which is the 3rd biggest town in Sweden. It is quite big and we went into a big shopping centre and for a wander down their mall (bit like Rundle mall). Marie took Jen to the doctor and has to go back at 3:30 to see her again. Put our plans back a bit to see Jens dad as we were originally planning to be there at 3.
