Jul 8, 2011 - Wednesday- Liseberg

Jens a little excited as we are going to Liseberg today. Its a big theme park full of rides and amusements etc and we are going with Michael, Marie, Frida and Robin. Today also happens to be Robins birthday so we are actually heading into town first to get him a present while he is at work - he works as a truck driver but is able to finish today at 12. Poor bugger, we had him out till late the night before and then he was up at like 5am to start work today. We all had a bit of a sleep in and the day didnt actually start till about 11 but...

Jul 8, 2011 - Thursday 7th

Today the plan is to leave Gotenberg and head back to Marie and Michaels place. Woke up and Frida and Robin both had already left for work which is a pitty as we didnt get to say good bye to them and thank them for letting us stay at there place. Packed our bags and had breakfast. Breakfasts here are different to home. At home you would be having cerial and toast where as here its more like sandwiches with different meats, cheeses, spreads and tomatoes. Anyway, headed off on our 3 hour journey but stopping off at Nordstrom (like harbour...

Jul 6, 2011 - 6th July- Gotenberg

I usually write these entries first thing in the morning for everything that happened the day before. Sitting here scratching my head trying to remember what we did all day- I remember that it ended having beers at a place called the Dancing Dingo...... umm.... umm........ (Jen what did we do yesterday...) Ahh, thats right. Started with Michael driving us into the city and we went and bought some passes that allow us to do all the touristy(?) stuff around town. We went for a bit of a wander to start off with and there was people everywhere....

Jul 5, 2011 - Monday 5th- Gotenberg

Today we are heading to Goteberg to see Frida, another of Jens cousins and Michael and Maries daughter. We didn’t get away quite as early as hoped as their little dog needed to go to the vet and have a few tests. Worked out well asI actually had a bit of work to do on the computer anyway. We managed to get away a little after 12 for the 3 hour drive. We stopped into a roadhouse for lunch and the food there wasn’t too bad considering. Coming into Gotenberg it really is a massive place. Apparently we were coming in pretty much on peak hour...

Jul 3, 2011 - Sunday 3rd July

Woke up on the lounge feeling fine from the night before with Tommy and Nina. Tommy however said he was struggling and thought he was still drunk. We had actually gone through half of the 1l bottle of 12yo CC that I got through duty free and ½ carton but I really was feeling fine. We hung around and had breakfast with them and then drove back to marie and michaels for a shower. We took the Pontiac out again and went and visited Jen’s Grand parents who are in a nursing home not far away. Jens Grandad Robert is in a wheel chair after having...

Jul 2, 2011 - Saturday 2nd July

Got up and headed out to some shops that Jen wanted to have a look around. We got there at 9 and planed to have breakfast there but the shops here don’t open till 10 on Saturday- needless to say we had no problems finding a car park……. Not much there and we headed into Malmo which is the 3rd biggest town in Sweden. It is quite big and we went into a big shopping centre and for a wander down their mall (bit like Rundle mall). I did find a diesil shop but that is about it that I have liked so far. Been trying to find a wi fi modem but they...

Jul 6, 2009 - Day trip to beach Lomma

After the pleasant experience of island Ven, we found the idea of visiting another beach attractive. However, after a lazy morning/early afternoon of chitchatting, it became overcast when we did manage to get out of the flat at 3pm. We decided to go to the beach nonetheless. Lomma is a famous Skane beach located 10km away from Lund. The walk to Lomma took us 2 hours and as it was pretty cool and overcast, it was actually a very good weather for walking. We had a very good time walking and chatting on the road, although the route was next...
