Sep 12, 2011 - Unexpected delay leaving Sweden

The route south of Gothenburg was all on easy-to-follow cycle paths and it was a perfectly fine day, so it was one of the nicest rides for several weeks, a lot of it right by the sea. I reached Varberg in the afternoon and called in at the port to buy a ticket for the sailing to Denmark the following morning. Unfortunately there was no sailing on Saturday at all, and only an evening one on Sunday arriving at 1am, which I didn't fancy. So I was going to be staying in Varberg for two extra nights. C O P E N H A G E N, Denmark ! ... wow cannot believe that we have almost finished our European Summer ! What a whirlwind of a tour ! Aug 30, 2004 - Northern Europe Adventures!

From the Olympics I traveled on to Sweden after Spending a day in Brussels, Belgium. My good friend Maria Brottel was waiting for me. It was great seeing her in her home country. She had come to visit me and other friends in the US just a few months before.
