After spending a final night on board Whimbrel at anchor in Santa Ponsa, we handed over the keys of the boat to the new owner on Friday 10 August and flew back to Gatwick that afternoon. It was a stressful last few days as we weren’t sure if the repairs would be completed by Thursday evening or if we would manage to pack up all our stuff by the time the removals people came to collect the boxes! Jul 31, 2012 - Santa Ponsa, Mallorca

We’ve been based in Santa Ponsa for the last couple of weeks, apart from a night on a mooring buoy in San Telmo, just round the south-west corner of Mallorca. We met up with Francis’ sister and family a few times, both on shore and afloat, while they were out here on holiday - the competitive nature of Francis and his niece Saskia came to the fore with a swimming race in San Telmo bay! May 17, 2012 - Ibiza to Port Andraitx in SW Mallorca

Left Portinatx at 9am and headed north-east across the Canal de Mallorca. There was a bit of swell against us and light winds so we made slow progress to start with but then the wind picked up at about 2pm and we sped along for the last part of the crossing, arriving at 17:30 in Port Andraitx in south-east Mallorca (51 nautical miles in 8 hours 35 minutes).
