Although cloudy it was still warm as we headed a short distance north along the coast. We drove through Lloret de Mar the major resort town along the coast (which was a typical over developed holiday town but not as bad as Benidorm) to the small town of Tossa de Mar. This was a lovely seaside town dominated by medieval walls and turrets of the old quarter, Vila Vella which sits on a hill above the more modern town. The town was originally founded by the Romans. Jul 12, 2013 - Tossa de Mar

We decided to head to a beach area today. This meant that first I had to buy a bikini top because with my tankini top I am way overdressed for around here! We headed to Coasta Brava in Spain. It did not disappoint! Rugged coastline with steep drops to the crystal clear Mediterranean. We went to a beach in Tossa de Mar and swam. The water is so incredibly clear - I would think I could touch because I could see the bottom so clearly, but I couldn't. It was cold but refreshing because it is hot! Now for the interesting bit. Jul 2, 2007 - Day 26 - Diving at Tossa de Mar

We left the apartment at 11AM exactly and caught up with Frank for one last time over breakfast. After that we drove north along the coast for a town called Tossa de Mar where we booked a scuba dive at 430PM. Along the way was a town called Lloret de Mar which reminded us so much of the Central Coast (north of Sydney), I'm not kidding, it was all roundabouts and beach shops and on one corner it had a MacDonalds, a Burger King, and a BP Petrol station.
