July 2012 A Month on the Beach in Spain …. What luxury! Annabel and I had been planning this time together for many moons now! I think we talked about spending a month together at our Mum’s 80th birthday party 3 or 4 years back. Nov 27, 2007 - Old Haunts Revisited

Drove down in the direction of Palamos to see if we could find Val LLobrega as Marion was keen to try to find the village and the villa she had family holidays in as a teenager in 1973 and 4 ( may have been 1972 and 3). The holiday was memorable for the Forest fire in the hills behind the village when the fire engine came and sucked the water out of the pool and flying boats and helicopters could be seen picking up water from the sea and dropping it on the fire. Before leaving Barcelona, we decided to spend the majority of the day seeing more of the city. We went downtown where we visited more of Gaudi's work, buildings that seemed to drip and twist in various odd shapes. We also walked down Las Ramblas, a famous street which probably has the most street performers in the world. I guess instead of street performers I should say human statues, since that was about all there was. About every thirty feet was a different human statue dressed to the hilt. It was pretty funny.
