We leave restful Espinho to return to Spain and today is the Spanish National Holiday and the drive is easy. Again, hundreds of kilometers of road construction till we arrive in Zamora, considered to be a quintessential city of Old Castile – a medieval frontier town. The lodging we choose is the Hosteria Real de Zamora – a building that was the former headquarters of the Inquisition; it wass also the home of the explorer Pizarro.
