Sep 25, 2017 - Molinaseca to Triacastela

La Faba to Triacastela – 19km (13 for me) Up by 7:00am and downstairs for breakfast at 8:00am, van loaded and depart by 9:30am. This is the routine for the next 5 days. We left Molinaseca and drove about 40 minutes through the beautiful green countryside leaving the main highway to a small little village for mid-morning coffee. The buildings are all made of slate and stone and steam rises from the dewy fields as the morning sun hits the valley. It is an absolutely stunning morning! Sep 11, 2016 - Day 14 Rabanal to Molinaseca

Overview Left at 7:30 this morning and climbed on a track through thick scrubby vegetation. The (small) road was often not far away but we rarely saw it. After 5.5km stopped at Foncebadon for breakfast. Coffee was poor (ready made in a thermos and luke warm), omelette had nothing on the plate with it except bread that I'd asked not to have (after I'd first been given an omelette sandwich due to a misunderstanding) and we only were given 1 orange juice. Less food than yesterday similar breakfast and not as nice... but €1 more expensive. You...

Apr 29, 2014 - Hard day over the mountains

Today was a hard day over the mountain - stopping at La Cruz de Ferro - where we left our rocks which we brought from Canada. I left mine for Paddy Cantwell. But thought about mom and dad and Paddy Walsh and Paddy (my sister in law's sister who died suddenly just before I left). The weather was socked in. Couldn't see 50 feet ahead of us through the walk up the mountain but the sky lifted as we went down the other side so we had some nice views towards Ponferrada. Came across another flower which we did not recognize - maybe someone knows...
