Deja vu! On our first trip to Spain in 2007 we stayed in a castle in the middle of nowhere and here we are at another one! We drove North from Segovia through Penafiel and the Ribero del Duero wine area of Spain. The Castillo de Curiel is a restored Medieval castle set on a hill, surrounded by vineyards and wheat fields. We have a wonderful suite, furnished with antiques and with great views over the vineyards. A bottle of 2004 Crianza from the vineyard owned by the castle owner awaited us along with a fruit plate.
