Ola. It was raining and being back in the Netherlands the wind had blown a dustbin's lid across the road. The word OLA on it, the national famous ice-cream prepared from the worldwide famous Dutch dairy laughed at me. Yesterday, in Lanzarote, the volcano island of the Canaries, 'ola' was used in more comfortable circumstances. Sunny, about 22 degrees. As the days get shorter and the skies get grayer (even for the U.K.), it seemed like a perfect time to check out one of the British's favorite winter breaks, Spain. Two sets of dear friends from Michigan - Joe and Bogi Kwapisz and Bill and Madelyn Ryan also eager for the sun agreed to meet us in Spain to explore the southern area of Andalusia, where bullfighters, beaches, flamenco, white villages, cave houses, tapas and sherry are in great abundance.
