Since I last posted I have had a good time looking at Extramadura, apparently one of the poorest regions in Spain. You wouldn't think it if you saw some of the towns, I was stunned by the beautiful lush parks I have come across, though often after driving through miles of scorched and apprently barren countryside. Extramdura was great, some georgous cities and it was the province where I finally got free tapas with drinks. I also saw a man on a donkey, and in the shops, the prices were coverted back into pesetas. My guess is they dont like...

May 31, 2006 - Seville, Spain

We had an early Tuesday morning flight to Lisbon where we picked up our rental car and headed towards Spain. Carmel gets to be the chaffeur for the week whether she likes it or not since I can't drive stick. We stopped for lunch in the town of Beja where we found all of the stores and historic sites closed as it was siesta time. We continued onward, crossing the border and ending in Seville. Oct 31, 2004 - Portugal is paradise! (and back to London we go!)

Have spent the last week on the beaches of Portugal so you'll have to forgive me for being tardy with this update. Since my last email had a few fun nights in London before Annie and I headed off on a jet plane to sunny Faro Portugal. It was so good to see Mom & Dad (and Uncle Kenny & Auntie Darlene too of course) and I can't tell you how amazing it was to have a home base where we could actually unpack and, gasp, hang up our clothes!!!
