We escaped Cordoba's spooky history and headed to Baeza and Ubeda on our way to our next stopover in Guadix. Both small towns were interesting, especially Baeza. The narrow passages and open spaces were brilliant to wander through and provided a feeling of 'being there' in its medieval days. Guadix was very different and is recognised as Europe's capital for cave houses. It is one of Spain's oldest human settlements and going by the lack of care and maintenance we wouldn't argue. Jun 29, 2006 - Granada, Spain

On the recommendation of some guy in Nice, we decided to stop in Granada on our way to Southern Spain. Granada was the last bastion of Islam in spain before the Reconquista drove them out. The Alhambra, a massive fortress palace is the main site there. It was abandoned by Boabadil in the 12th century. As he sailed away and looked back, his mother told him 'You cry like a woman for that which you could not defend like a man'. So apparently mothers have been critical of their sons for centuries. Feb 24, 2005 - Repos La Cueva - Remise en état du 4x4

Nous passons la journée à démonter l'intérieur du 4x4 , à ranger tous les outils, cordes,lits, bidons, table, pneus, jerrycans, ... et remettre le 4x4 en état de rouler sur route . Il aura besoin d'une bonne révision à son retour en France.Je me connecte à INTERNET à Baza dans un cyber café.Ca marche mieux qu en Afrique !!
