On Wed (the 19th) we took another tour, this time covering the Eastern Algarve, from Faro (where we landed when we flew in) all the way to the Guadiana River which forms the border with Spain. It was an early morning as we had to be at the gate of the resort at 7:45 for our pickup. We had our snacks made and daypacks ready, so we were up and out the door on time. Too bad the bus wasn’t! Portugal Cruise

Monday 21st Sept. Off north this morning, hopefully to get past Huelva to a campsite near the border that Roy has earmarked for us, if we like it, to stay for a week or more....we have to be back at Bellavista before the 22nd Oct, hoping to explore a bit of Portugal, but we may save that for early 2016, when we have 2 months+ to explore. The long, straight, and I have to say boring, road between Jerez and Seville has nothing but agriculture on flat terrain stretching into the distance. Aug 3, 2007 - Ayamonte

I don't really have any decent pics of Ayamonte. What a battle to get here! Actually, it was only Huelva that caused me any grief. The reason I came to Ayamonte is because I was reading a 'What's On' guide and spotted an International Music Festival is being held here for the next week or so. I thought it was in Huelva though, but it's Huelva province, not Huelva town... I got in to Huelva after a scenic drive up via the beautiful beach at Bolonia where I stopped for a swim and caught some rays of course, and left when the wind picked up...
