The next day we travelled on KwaZul-Natal where the Zulus come from. The afternoon we went on yet another game drive in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi park one of the oldest game parks in SA. It is reknown for its rhino and it didnt disappoint as we saw a few as well as...

Jul 26, 2012 - Day 34 Durban
We have had a nice and relaxing day with Oliver and Charysse in Durban - We headed down to Ushaka Sea World and went to the Aquarium. We enjoyed the Dolphin show and Annamaria got splashed. The children went swimming with the fish in the aquarium and had loads of fun Has a nice sushi lunch at Cape Town Fish Market and went home early to start packing cars for our long drive about 480 KM tomorrow to Mozambique. We are thankful to liver and Charysse making our say in Durban so pleasant - it is always good to hook up with old friends. By Thomas

Tuesday 22nd May Durban Up late again today – becoming a habit – then to breakfast at a different restaurant, just a little further along the street. After breakfast, we walked into the town again along one of the main streets to do some final souvenir shopping. Today the city centre was quite bustling with lots of noise, stalls in the streets like all other African cities and a very busy atmosphere. It was fine today and warmer than yesterday (about 23°C). We managed to find all the things we were looking for and then walked back to the...

May 21, 2012 - Durban
Friday 18th May Johannesburg to Durban Up later today and after breakfast we packed our bags and headed out on the shuttle to the airport (only about 5 minutes away). We checked in for our 12.10pm flight down to Durban, planned a few weeks ago. We are now in the last week of our trip in Africa and are staying by the beach (for a rest) for six nights till we go home on Thursday 24th. It was a really nice flight down there – we arrived about 1.15pm and caught a shuttle from the airport to our hotel Protea Edward. Durban is green and warm....

I got up fairly early. I went down to the internet and than packed my bags. When I had everything sorted I had the delicious free breakfast they were serving on sundays and than went down to the beach for a view hours to vstvh some sun. It was chilli and windy but else it was very beautiful. We were picked up by the Baz Bus at 12pm. The busride was about 9 hours and not eventful what so ever. I just missed my ipod that had died on me a few days prior. We arrived at Durban at around 9.30pm. I checked into a hostel, had a cup of tea shower...

Oct 10, 2011 - Durban

Hello for sunny Durban!! So far it has been a wonderful trip full of spontaneous singing opportunities. Thus far we have had the wonderful chance to sing outside the Joburg airport as well as at dinner later that night. Generally we sing out grace for our food (doxology, the cookie monster song, superman song, or one of our other performance tunes.). I have found that within South Africa, random outbreaks of singing is extremely accepted and even encouraged. At the restaurant, we sang the doxology for grace, and the wait staff came out and...

Jun 21, 2011 - Hello, Durban, South Africa
Hello Durban! After a wonderful night’s sleep Heidi and Jan were awakened by the Har-di-dar birds… much worse than the Malawi crows. These are truly similar to a coughing honking bike horn. Heidi and Jan quickly got around and were dropped off by Thelma at the Pavilion, a beautiful upscale mall. Due to bags being in Johannesburg, there were things “missing” and very needed. After this they were rushed to Aminos, our bead man. Even suffering through the boils he managed to get our Fleur De Lis and 10 birds made for us. What a wonderful man...

Mar 22, 2011 - 1 Month to Go
Okay! So today marks exactly 1 month until the start of my tour. Woohoo!!! Although I cant really say that i am all that much excited. Nevertheless, I'm making the dollars. lol!!! So hopefully, soon i'll start feeling the excitement about the trip, although it all still seems unreal.
