Am frühen Nachmittag erreichen wir Berbera, die größte Küstenstadt Somalilands mit dem wichtigsten Hafen des Landes. Ca. 2 km außerhalb der Stadt und mitten im Nix befindet sich unser somalisches Beachresort. Eine Ansammlung von Bungalows, die für afrikanische Verhältnisse sehr gut ausgestattet sind (eigenes Bad mit fließendem Wasser, Klimaanlage, Fernseher mit Satelitenempfang), rund um einen staubigen Platz. Am Tag 2 unseres Roadtrips geht es nach dem Frühstück weiter nach Osten, erst mal bis zur Grenze mit Somaliland. Wir durchqueren aride Landschaften mit bizarren Felsformationen, unendlichen Weiten, vielen Kamelen und Menschen, die hier am Ende der Welt zu leben scheinen. An und zu mal ein Dorf, eine kleinere Stadt und dann der Grenzübergang, an dem wir unseren Fahrer Alex und unseren Jeep für 3 Tage verlassen. We arrived here safely yesterday and it's been quite a ride. I'm trying to keep the updates weekly so I'm not clogging your emails but there are just too many things to tell you that I'd rather not wait and forget - although I doubt that would happen!
