Read and rate Travel Journal Entries for Levoca, Slovakia
Dec 10, 2011 - On to Slovakia, or "trust me"
Today's entry should be interesting reading, especially for those of you who have been married for several years. It all started innocently enough with a good breakfast at the hotel in Eger. We had scrambled eggs with bits of ham, and that was a treat. We got the car loaded and were on our way by 9:15 AM. Our destination was Levoca, Slovakia, a small village in the northeast corner of Slovakia. I found it in Rick Steves--yes, there is his name once again--book and it sounded worth an overnight visit. The route I wanted to take was the most...Jump to full entry
May 11, 2011 - CzechRep. to Poland to Slovakia
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 We left our little cottage today and headed to Poland. We have a long drive today but will stop to cache along the way so we can break our drive up and continue to get caches in every country we drive through. The countryside here is so similar to home. Apr 17, 2010 - Day 7 - castle exploring
Awaking in the morning we saw some strange thing coming from the blinds in our room. Strangely enough it was sunshine and with a closer inspection out the window a beautiful and clear blue sky was staring back down at us. With sunshine outside and a hearty breakfast under our belts we decided to head to Spisske Podhradie in search of Spis castle. Heading to the bus stop we soon discovered we couldn’t speak a word of Slovak with the bus timetables being a riddled mess. Lucky Amanda has seen the Di Vinci code enough times to work it all out...Jump to full entry
Apr 16, 2010 - Day 6 - to the back blocks of Slovakia we go!
Another ordinary start today with breakfast on the botel being a disaster again with the Indians somehow managing to do a worse job than the day before. After some grumbling we took off from the botel towards the train station determined not to miss this train. The weather was again ordinary with a light rain mist over the city. Thankfully this time we got to the station nice and early and got settled on the train. The trip was a pretty painless and uneventful one with the clouds blocking much of the view or the countryside. We soon arrived...Jump to full entry
