Apr 7, 2013 - Singapore, Singapore
We began our wonderful day in Singapore with an awesome breakfast on the 57th floor of the Marina Bay Sands Resort and Casino at a beautiful restaurant simply called “57”. The views of the Singapore skyline were breathtaking! The food was amazing as well—a real bonus! We then took the cable car ride to Sentosa Island which is home to any kind of amusement you can imagine from dining, night clubs to Sea World, waterpark, as well as many roller coasters and other rides. It would be a great place to spend a day or two with the family. We took...

Feb 4, 2013 - A day at the zoo
We woke up this morning to be greeted by more rain. We debated on whether to go to Singapore Zoo, as originally planned, or trawl round the malls window shopping. The zoo won. This time the wet tops were with us and we loaned a couple of hotel umbrellas off the concierge, we were well set up. The tourist bus to the zoo stopped right outside our hotel, so no chance of getting lost in transit. 45 minutes later and we are entering the zoo and the rain has stopped. This zoo is quite an experience. The animals are not caged and their enclosures...

Ok, so the rain doesn't fall mainly in Spain, it falls in SIngapore as well, all day in fact. Today with our wet tops safely locked in our hotel room, off we set to see what Singapore had to offer, well it was dry when we left. The first place on our "To Do List" was China Town which along with the Buddhist Temple was done and dusted by 10 o'clock. To be honest it was much the same as any other China Town we had seen on our travels. One thing did stand out though, were these massive queues of people, and I mean massive. At least a couple of...

The flight from Heathrow was uneventful. In fact we slept for a good part of the it. That's the beauty of the night flight. A few vodkas and you're out cold. We took a cab from the airport to the hotel and the cab driver was full of information and advice;telling us where to eat and what to do. He advised us that the sale of reproduction designer goods was pretty much non existent in Singapore, ha I say, but back to that later. He told us of a good area to eat which was a short walk from our hotel, which is in the shopping district, how...

Jan 13, 2013 - Last day in Singapore
Our last day in Singapore was full of adventure and discovery. People had been telling us how wonderful the street food is in Singapore, and we finally got to experience the full panoply -- a plethora of street hawkers all in one amazing place: MAXWELL STREET FOOD COURT, like the L.A. Farmer's Market, but on steroids and with a decidedly Asian flair. Next, we ambled over to the Buddha's Tooth Relic shrine, a colorful operating Buddhist Temple. We saw monks in orange robes walking around, prayerful Buddhists kneeling, lighting incense,...
