One needs to be a little careful when believing readers' letters. Most are extremely well intentioned, but many are far from accurate. In several cases I have found that readers reports of 'closed' restaurants are entirely mistaken - one letter in particular told me of four different 'mistakes' in the Siberia chapter - none of which proved to be really the case.
