Nov 27, 2010 - Hellride to Princesa

Aug 19, 2008 - Philippines
Hey guys, we are currently in Palawan, a large island in the South West. We are staying in Banwa Art House which is essentially a very funky laid back hostel, the phrase "chill out" is used quite alot. The hostel is covered in local art work but the centre piece is a veranda that has walls made from bamboo and long green vines. You're outside but it feels very much like a room.....lots of couches, books and an open bar (very dangerous). The food is not to my liking, it's practically all vegetarian but not in a good way; lots of bland pasta...

Jun 27, 2008 - Puerto Princesa (Palawan)

Aug 25, 2007 - Palawan
We arrived in Puerto Princesa on the island of Palawan in the south east of the Philippines. Everyone we met on our travels through the Philippines raved about this place so we thought it was best we come and check it out! How removed these places are from the hell of Manila! As I keep saying as soon as you step outside of Manila it is so beautiful here. We stayed in one of the nicest guesthouses we have seen so far for 2 nights in Puerto Princesa, basing ourselves there while we took a day trip to the subterranean river. With more...

Jan 16, 2007 - Puerto Princessa ... on route to Sabang
Just a few quick photos to show you the busy city of Puerto Princessa. We flew here southward from El Nido and taxied into town. We stayed a night here before heading out the next day to the beaches and Underground River of Sabang. Tomorrow ... off to the world's second largest Underground River!
