Jan 17, 2010 - Legazpi and the whalesharks at Donsol

I do my best to avoid overnight coaches (I can never get any sleep on them) but this time it was unavoidable so I arrived a little bleary eyed after my sleepless journey from Manila at 5.30 in the morning at the city of Legazpi. Legazpi is in itself an unremarkable city but is serves as a jumping off point for a trip to Mount Mayon, the worlds most active volcano, and Donsol where whalesharks gather in its murky waters and have a big feed for around 4 months of the year.
