by Lora On the island of Mindanao, in the Southern part of the Philippines, fruits abound. We've tried so many different kinds of delicious fruit; apples and berries seem so boring. The infamous durian fruit is in season now; it is a spiky, smelly bohemoth. The smell of the durian fruit is so strong and stinky that it is banned from many hotels - seriously. The fruit is cracked open, and the inside has about 8-10 large pods, covered in the meat of the fruit, which you just eat off the seed. The taste is an acquired one - it's creamy,...

Oct 27, 2008 - Tagum - A Warm Family Welcome

by Lora We spent 2 weeks visiting with my dad's eldest sister and her family, who live in Tagum. They greeted us with open arms and took care of our every need (and then some)! When both of us got sick, my Ate Grace (Doctora) made sure we had our fill of medicines and Gatorade :) If you want to be pampered head to toe and fed until you just about burst, head to Tagum.
