May 8, 2008 - Kabayan and its Mummies

Thursday May 8 - Kabayan, Benguet Province (Cordillera Mountains), site of the Kabayan mummies OK, not much going on here. The one letter we received about this place had only two "corrections": the museum curator is now dead (fair enough), and admission to the Odpas burial cave, where dozens of skulls are stacked, is by optional "donation" - admission is not 20 pesos (about $0.40) as I wrote. Feb 9, 2008 - Mummies..........

Kabayan So where was I? Arriving with Ashley in Kabayan I think after a 6-7 hour drive. We checked into the coop lodge. The only hotel in the town. We shared a room with bunk beds, they were ok enough. After checking out the pint size but interesting museum we decided to have a beer. A local came to join us. Plucked eyebrows, long hair, a mans top and shorts and beer gut and high heels? Very curious.
