Hello! well it has taken me quite a while to find another access to the internet and there is so much to fill you guys in on! it has been quite the week. after a few days in Cusco we started the Inca trail for three days, it was just fantastic. it is an amazing walk that is 500 years old, mostly consisting of the original stone steps set into the path by the Incas. starting low in the valley, well low for peru, 2000m you wind your way into the mountains passing ruin after ruin. it is an amazing experience, so much culture to take in in the...

Oct 30, 2005 - Snakes, monkeys and spiders

Just a quick update after a fantastic trip in the jungle. After feeling a little homesick for the lush, green countryside of Guatemala I got my fix in the jungle so I'm feeling much happier now. It took about 10 hours by bus to leave the dry, desert landscape and reach the tropical cloud and rain forests. We also had the opportunity to stop at the local villages along the way. The long way home

Sep 3, 2004 - Peru - Manu & Inca Trail - Jungle & Machu Picchu

Manu - Peruvian Amazonas The Manu jungle runs down from the Andie's to the Amazon basin. The road in runs over the Andie's and through the high jungle, the cloudforest (photos 1-3). The first few days was as a regular tourist, but all comforts where soon to go (photo 5). The days started early with first light (photo 6) about 5am.
