Fab little friendly surf town, update soon ... Hauchachina was such a cool little surf town, really friendly place, everyone knew each other and the locals would just come up and chat 2 u. After nightmare bus journey made up of 4 buses, 2 thieves and a border crossing in the middle of the night was a welcome relief! Spent our 1st full day there having a surf lesson with Edwarda, an instructor from 1 of the surf shops, awesome fun, proud to say we were both standing up within a few attempts! Apr 23, 2006 - HUANCHACO - CHAN CHAN - TRUJILLO - Peru

Erst nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit in Huanchaco einem kleinen Kuestenstaedtchen, welches uns als Ausgangsort fuer die Besichtigung der alten Lehmstat Chan Chan diente, angekommen, machte das Zelt und Kueche aufstellen wiedermal so richtig Spass. Der Strand, eine einzige Enttaeuschung, war aber nicht weiter schlimm, da wir diesen eh nicht bei Tageslicht zu Gesicht bekommen wuerden. Am naechsten morgen frueh gings gleich auf zum Sightseeing. Chan Chan wurde um rund 1300 nach Chr. erbaut und war damals anscheinend die groesstbesiedelte Stadt...

May 29, 2005 - Trujillo on the coast...Huanchaco

Through Chiclayo and onto Trujillo, 20 hour journeys are ok if you do them all at the same time! From the small, nice,little Pueblo Trujillo we jumped onto the Huanchaco bus. Yet another minibus taxi trying to squash as many people in as posible. On the last count I counted 20 people in one little van! Huanchaco - This is a little surf village famous for its Reed boats. They are like small canoes that look like Turkish slippers. They are not waterproof, but do not sink...hooray for fibreglass. Anyway enough statements and our first look at...
