Up at 7, shower - it is cold here but they provide lots of blankets (5 + comforter). We are better than yesterday so decide to catch the bus which leaves at 8. The canyon after a climb to 4500m. pass, is narrow - reforestation, mining, and hydro power seem to be main things going on here. At the pass and on way down we pass many llama 'ranches' (see pics). By 10 we are stopped for 2 hours due to road construction. We arr in Huanaco, get a tuktuk to downtown where colectivos/cars leave for Tingo Maria (we missed the last bus which we're told...Jump to full entry

Hey everyone! Sorry about the delay of our update. Julie and I (Lauren) have been doing a lot of traveling over the past two weeks, making it hard to find the time to load pictures onto the website and write an update. We arrived "home" to FAIENAP last night (Monday, December 11th). We had just spent twelve hours on a bus coming back from Huanuco, Peru. We had to leave FAIENAP for about ten days due to a conference that was taking place. We had met Bruce Benson here at FAIENAP; he was acting as a consultant for the Bible translations.
