Aug 15, 2008 - Lares Trek - Patacancha: 3rd trekking day

I couldn't sleep well last night. For one thing, my feet were freezing even though I was wearing 2 pairs of socks and wrapped my feet in a towel. Add to that the fact that there were some wild, ferral dogs barking by our camp site and it made for a long night. Today's hike went relatively well though. It was fairly easy, with rolling hills and random inclines here and there, but nothing overly strenuous. Jun 21, 2007 - Lares trek day 3 - Ipsaycocha to Patacancha

Our final trekking day we slept in until 7, awakened again by a deliciously hot cup of coffee. There is serious ice on our tent today and the entire campsite is swathed in hoarfrost. It is still very cold at 7. We break camp and are on the trail by 9 with about 3 hours of trekking down into the village of Patacancha ahead of us. The day warms up quickly and it is a pleasant walk across hillsides criss-crossed with llama and alpaca tracks.
