In this hot, drab little town, near the just-like-a-million-other square with its obligatory colonial church I found a dinghy little hotel and an unexceptional supper. I had been planning to spend a few days wandering around this region, but apart from a couple of beaches where you probably wouldn't want to swim, there wasn't likely to be anything more exciting than this. To hell with it. I'm going to Panama City.
