Oct 15, 2007 - Manshera

We're in luck! The owner of the Madina hotel has managed to hire a tourist mini-bus for us, and the driver drives like a bat out of hell and we make it to Manshera in something like 12 hours including a lunch stop and a change of vehicle in Batagram, which must be some sort of record. I didnt see much of Manshera, it just seemed to be another South Asian town. The folks at the hotel (can't remember its name)seemed a friendly lot though - they bought us all chicken and chapati's which was a nice guesture.

Aug 3, 2006 - The Trek

Hi Everyone. We have arrived in Lahore and are staying at a backpackers just off the Mall called the Regal Inn. It is a tiny flaking rabbit warren of a place but is super cheap (NZD4 each a night) and is a favourite for travellers like us. We have (mainly) young people here from England, Holland, Argentina, Japan, Slovenia, France and Spain. Most are going east to west having spent time in India so for us they are an important source of information as well as friendship after the last four weeks where we have seen no other foreigners....
