Dec 27, 2008 Hello all, I´m crossed the border from Honduras into Nicaragua today and am now in Granada. It´s a very prety town...at least compared to the capital of Honduras-Tegucigulpe- which is basically a town of gridlock. I spent the night there listening to people blasting their horns all night long. Our one night in the capital was fun though. hello, this is my first time back on the computer in a long time. it is actually jan 3,2009 and it is getting hard to remember what we did this far back. but after looking at our pictures we were able to figure it out. granada is a cool tourist town with lots to see. so sonya and i decided to go on the full day tour. Dec 13, 2008 - San Jose to Nicaragua
San Jose to Nicaragua was a pleasant drive. Again, lots of fruit for sale, with the wonderful smell of pineapple everywhere. Getting out of Costa Rica went quickly, no need to "donate" funds to not inspect our luggage. But getting into Nicaragua - well, that's another story! The line of trucks was incredible. We were stopped to the point of turning off our engine. We started talking to a boy on the side of the road, and he told us some of these trucks had been waiting to enter Nicaragua for 2 to 3 days!
