We didn’t quite know what to expect from today’s tour because, after we got on the bus, our tour guide told us we were going to a park and then to a resort for a cold drink. Uhhh, for this we paid forty nine bucks a person??? (Yeah, I know! You cruise mavens are thinkin’ “forty nine bucks is cheap for a ship’s tour!” . . . . but still . . . .) Well, not to worry. Mar 13, 2008 - San Juan Del Sur

Tuesday-Wednesday<\B> Today's plan was to take a little overnight trip to San Juan del Sur - a nearby spot on the Pacific Ocean where we had read about a lovely bay and a charming inn. We researched car rental vs car and driver and came up with a far better price with car rental, though we had heard otherwise. The car and driver would have been $85 each way and the rental was just $26.00 per day! Plus it would be more of an adventure to drive and we had Bill who has younger eyes than ours! Nov 24, 2007 - Border crossing - Costa Rica to Nicaragua

Well................... Nica started very lonely planet style. After getting about 3 buses i arrived at the border at 2000. Unfort I am now travelling on my footprint central america 2003 addition and (aside from the fact of it's a bit old) is terrible compared to the footprint and LP that i was using for south america.
