After a dunk in the campsite hot pool we did manage to walk into town via the river path, going past the bungy jump as we went. Followed the river gorge out of Taupo visiting geothermal features on the way. ... Er zijn 3 liften naar het observation level op 186m boven de grond en op 40 seconden tijd ben je daar en van daar heb je een mooi uitzicht over Auckland en omgeving, het zicht was vandaag niet perfekt, maar het kon ermee door. ... Greetings from Te Anua in NZ's Fiordland region. By mid-afternoon, when the ANWB (dutch AA) camper tourgroup turned up on the same campground for the 4th time on my holiday (Kaiteriteri, FJG, Wanaka and now Queenstown), I decided to cut my losses and leave early for Te Anau in the Fiordland so I would at least be 2 days ahead of my dutch "friends". ... On the way back, we had a tour of the power plant which couldonly be reached by taking a 2 km tunnel underground ! From there it was back to Te Anau where I went out for a Fish and Chips dinner in the Fat Duck restaurant. ...

New Plymouth heeft een 7 km lange walkway langs de kust en daar vanavond al en paar kilometer van gedaan in het halfduister. ...
