Apr 15, 2007 - Gushing water and outdoor heated seats!!
It was another normal start, at least New Zealanders seem to appreciate their sleep as much as I do so the departure times seem to be between 8 and 9am, okay for me!! This morning started at Te Puia, "which is NZ's most well known thermal area complete with geysers, boiling mud, live Maori Arts and Crafts Centre and a Kiwi bird house" (boy I sound smart, but actually that is just from our little travel guide you get with the kiwi experience!!! But really that's where I went this morning and it quite interesting. It was another normal start, at least New Zealanders seem to appreciate their sleep as much as I do so the departure times seem to be between 8 and 9am, okay for me!! Feb 25, 2005 - Waitomo - Black Water Rafting & Glowing Poo!
RAST! This was up there with the Nevis for gettin the adrenaline goin, definately not the place to go if you're afraid of the dark, cluastrophobic, dont like eels and dont like cold water! Started by abseiling down into the cavern about 35 metres below the surface, its pitch black at the bottom (Apart from your head lamps which were just LED's to protect the gloworms), and then a zip-line down a further 10 metres to a ledge and then a 3 metre JUMP down into the river sat in an inner tube.RAST!
