Jeff Despite the waves crashing hard against the beach all night right behind us, we both felt we had enjoyed a good sleep and must now be used to coastal living. For a change we were up with the birds, well, not really it was the phone alarm. As Sylvia lowered the rear blind she discovered the sun had just beaten us so we rushed out of the van and watched it come right up over the horizon and then disappear behind low clouds. Nov 24, 2007 - Photos, news and other rubbish

So I understand that the long grey sporting cloud over New Zealand has made a rather rapid detour to the mother country. We were obviously in work during the final England debacle but thanks to the BBC's fantastic minute by minute coverage (and slack internet use policies!), we were still able to keep in touch with the drama. So you've got 7 months of being reminded what England have missed out on. Have to say that I'm thankful we'll miss out on that! Everton of course have put on a fine performance this weekend.
