Well they did warn us that a side affect of Diamox was peeing a lot, but losing count after seven trips to the loo during the night is not funning. Never mind, we push on hoping that this will keep away any more bouts of altitude sickness. We had a fairly relaxed start to the morning. I think Ramesh has got used to us not being ready exactly on time. He just waits until we say we are ready to go before he comes into the room to whip away our luggage. Sep 26, 2011 - Dhukla - Snowstorm

We wake up to heavy snowfall, and disappointing weather was no surprise after all these days. After having cinnamon pancakes for breakfast, we wait in the dining room for the snow fall to abate. But exactly the opposite happens, and more snow begins to fall. We stay put in the dining room, and order lemon tea. The lemon tea is quite delicious and Iā€™m thinking of getting some from Kathmandu and making it at home more often. The Czech couple are all dressed up and twiddling their thumbs in the dining room. Everest Base Camp

Sep 25, 2011 - Kalapatthar / Dhukla

I am not able to sleep nearly well, the think air causing me to wake up regularly gasping for breath and all I can take in is dry cold air. In the utterly inhospitable temperatures well below freezing, the last thing I want is an urge to pee ā€“ but this is unavoidable at high altitudes. Every time I move, I have to expend body heat to warm up the part of the bed that was cold, and this is not a pleasant feeling ā€“ now imagine getting out of the bed to pee.
