After sleeping for 3 hours my alarm clock woke me again. I was extremely tired and in the taxi I thought I could sleep in the chapa. Not knowing what exactly a chapa was. I was left a place with a lot of busses. I thought a chapa would be a bus. I was told by some local that I had to wait. My chapa wasn’t there yet. When it arrived it turned out to be a little truck with a bench on each side of the back. When I arrived at Pemba airport that afternoon a humid heat was welcoming me. The 1st thing that struck me was the airport it looked like one of these airports on a Greek island or in Spain many moons ago when I was a kid. The luggage clam area was very small I was standing 3rd row and could hardly see what was going on at the front. I had to wait there for quite some time my luggage was one of the last peaces to come out. Outside I was surrounded by taxi drivers. They were by far more relaxed than the ones in South Africa. Hakuna Matata

The flight to Pemba bizarrely takes 4 hours, despite the fact that we only took an hour to fly from there when we first left Mozambique after our transit stop. This is because that day, it flies up to Nairobi, sits there for an hour and then flies back down to Pemba! We got to fly over Kilimanjaro though and had quite a good view of it and during the hour sitting on the plane at Nairobi we got to have a beer, so not too bad. It was dark and there wasn't much transport about when we landed...apart from the courtesy bus for Pemba Beach...
