Aug 12, 2005 - Goodbye Mongolia - Hello China

6am start for the train to China...Slept for a few hours and woke up to my find myself right in the middle of the Gobi desert! I've never been to a desert before and even though there's not much to see, I find the endless sight of sand, sand and more sand totally mesmerising...Every so often there is the odd camel or four and I even get to see some baby ones, it's a bit bizarre considering the scenery and landscpae have changed so much since yesterday. We even get to see a sand storm which feels very Lawrence of Arabia (not quite sure why?)...
