We left at about 10. First stop was the State Department Store to stock up on provisions and then we were off. As soon as we got out of town the road deteriorated into a track and we spent the next 10 hours bumping and rattling along tracks to Battsengul. The landscapes were all I expected from Mongolia; wide open grasslands with horses, cows, goats and sheep dotted around. We stopped for lunch at a "restaurant" in the middle of nowhere (everywhere out here is the middle of nowhere) where we had rice and mutton. We were going to get used...
