We made it to Ulan Baatar, despite the best efforts of the border police and customs. Mongolia has also turned out to be very cold!! (Please send any spare jumpers to us, as we are now getting very cold in our shorts!!) The first day snowed all day and the temperature was probably minus 5 all day. So we went to a German pub, ate Italian food, listened to French dubbed English and American pop music, in the middle of Ulan Bataar. Somehow the more beer we had the more it all seemed to make sense!! We had to make a quick dash to the market...
