Apr 17, 2013 - Puerto Penasco, Sonora Mexico
We drove around Puerto Penasco again, saw a very eclectic 5th Wheel, horse riders on the beach and wonderful views. We then went to Visit "Tugboat Dave" a friend of Jimmie and Jeaine, the couple from whom we bought our 5th Wheel. Tugboat Dave got his name from captaining a Tugboat that brought Oil and other tankers into Ferndale, Washington. Jimmie was 1st mate on one of Exxon's oil tankers and Tugboat Dave's tugboat was the one that brought Jimmie into port. We drove to Ostonera Oyser Farm, run by 12 women, to eat "extremely fresh"...

We did some touring and saw Old Town Puerto, very quaint and we found Three Guys Fish Market, Geraldo one of the owners, was extremely honest and we will eventually buy our seafood from him. We then ate lunch at the highest point in Puerto Penasco, El Casa de Captain. A wonder full view of Puerto Penasco and the Sea of Cortez. Went back to Kay & Marlins for cocktails and dinner that Reggi prepared.

We drove to Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico. We met up with Kay & Marlin, our friends from Alaska and who we have met several times along our journeys. Marlin made Crab Cakes & Asparagus and Kay made Corn pudding, all was outstanding. We have to say that Marlin's Crab Cakes were the 2nd Best we have every had, Reggi's Crab Cakes being the Best. Now we have a challenge, when we meet again, Reggi and Marlin are going to have a Crab Cake cook off, now with Kay and Michael as the judges, the contest will be a tie.....ummm.

This covers our caravan we led to Puerto Penasco, Mexico for Fantasy RV Tours. We are now working for them and this was our fist gig. We were the Wagon Masters. We had 14 guests. We were supposed to be the tail gunners, but they ran out of wagon masters so we got the job. We had a great time. It was a lot more work than people realize. We were working from 6 AM to 9 PM everyday. We had a lot to learn. I had to figure out how to do the financial books. The guests were mostly first timers to Mexico. We were able to keep everybody busy with...

Our time here in Puerto Penasco has almost ended. Since I haven't kept a daily log I can't even tell you all that we have done. We have eaten out at some special Mexican places, gone to our favorite bar, visited with our HitchHker friends, and visited with our Mexican caravan friends. I got the trailer slideout ends painted, trailer washed and waxed, and carpet cleaned. We are all stocked up on fish and shrimp. We have had homemade ice cream, bought our souvenier tee shirts, and planned for the caravan we lead next week. Weight wise, it has...

Feb 24, 2013 - Windy, Windy & at a loss for words, my day is better than others
Feb 24, Amazing how fast a week can go by. On Friday we dumped our tanks and got the Propane truck to fill our tank. The weekenders came in and laid claim to there site. There are 3 large grocery stores here, a Super-Leys, Bodego and Sams Club. There is a big department store here similar to a Sears / Zellers So the shopping is quite adequate. The other day we walked the Malecon, it is well maintained concrete designs interlaced with brick, benches, palm trees, and with a neat park,(concrete not grass) on the southern end. There are a...

Feb 15, 2013 - Beautiful town
First day in Puerto Penesco. We took a short drive into town via the condos on calle 26, very nice road with numerous traffic circles. We managed to get down where the Malecon is, parking is at a premium so we venture up to where the Banomex, Sams cub - Bordego is. We had lunch at Burger King, nothing like this since B4 Xmas. 2 combos were 181 pesos or $14.50. There were 2 boys(10 - 12 years old) here looking at us, we eventually left, and they jumped up and showed us the clean windshield, we passed a few pesos there way for the hard work...

We met our group of HitchHikers in Gila Bend. We had a decent dinner in the local Italian restaurant. The next morning we drove to the RV Park in Puerto Penasco. We drove to a different RV park so that we could do the Trip Log for the Fantasy trip we are leading in March. Everybody is parked right on the beach except for us. I wanted to park where I can get good Wifi. I won't say it is good, but it works sometimes. Susan and I have done some scouting for Fantasy, and have already been to the grocery store and vegetable store. Yesterday I...

10/19 – 10/25 Headed out about 10:00 AM for Puerto Penasco. Our stop at the border lasted about 45 minutes as we got our Mexican tourist card and went to the bank to pay for it. Next stop was the fish market in Puerto Penasco for some shrimp, afterwards a stop at a Mexican supermarket for groceries. We arrived at the Mayan Palace, our timeshare, about 4:30 PM. Got a great room overlooking the pool and Sea of Cortez. David and Dianne joined us the next day and stayed for five nights. Life at the timeshare was hard. Spent our time relaxing...
