Mar 16, 2006 - Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

To celebrate our 3rd anniversary we decided to go to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southwestern Arizona, south of Ajo. The drive to Organ Pipe through Tucson, and Sells was uneventful save adding a trip bird, the Crested Caracara. We arrived at the Organ Pipe Visitor Center a little after 11:30. After consulting with the volunteer working the desk, we were quite disappointed to learn all the southern route to Quitoboquito Springs was closed due to construction of a vehicle barrier to better secure the border.
