Today we had our last border crossing for this trip back into Mexico. We then got in a coach that took us to Playa del Carmen which took about 4 hours. ... The beaches are really nice in Playa del Carmen and the waves were huge! That evening as it was Deans birthday we went to Coco Bongos in Cancun which was amazing! Its like a club but with live shows and acrobatics as well. ...

Feb 10, 2008 - From Mexico City to Playa Del Carmen

Caught a plane to Cancun to meet up with ma Big Sis which I did eventually once I found out I had come into a different terminal to her! We waited behind a bunch of dumb people (guess where they were from?!) for about an hour getting our car so it was dark by the time I chauffeured Karen down to Playa del Carmen. ... Was easy enough after we sussed we had been given dodgy directions by one of the guys at Budget.Caught a plane to Cancun to meet up with ma Big Sis which I did eventually once I found out I had come into a different terminal to her! We reluctantly made our way to the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula for our final week of our trip together. We had a couple of days in Playa del Carmen which had a pretty cool vibe and had a couple of great nights with Tobi and Julia. ... We also visited Acumal Beach where we snorkelled with giant turtles, amazing experience and well worth the 50km drive.We reluctantly made our way to the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula for our final week of our trip together. Now we are on the Caribbean Coast and it is just as beautiful as the ads show - turquoise clear water that is just the right temperature!
