Feb 24, 2009 - Puerto Vallarta Here We Come

We had heard that the campgrounds in the Puerto Vallarta area had decreased in numbers, folks buying the property and building houses on the water, so we were a bit concerned as we left Mazatlan for our next stop.We had heard that the campgrounds in the Puerto Vallarta area had decreased in numbers, folks buying the property and building houses on the water, so we were a bit concerned as we left Mazatlan for our next stop....

Feb 13, 2009 - Sayulita, this morning...........

I fell in love with this place last year when I visited it for the first time with a friend of mine. Sayulita is in a little Gilligan´s Island enclave, where the beach stretches like a horseshoe between land outcroppings, and the village is small (three streets running horizontal and four running vertical). ... Feb 4, 2009 - La Peñita, Nayarit

Hard to believe, but a month has whizzed by and I'm about to be on my way home again. There's the old, original, Mexican town located just north of Rincon de Guayabitos where Mexicans carry on their normal lives and, of course, the main plaza where community events take place and Mexicans gather (there were very few gringos in the plaza the night we watched folkloric dancers performing here) and there's a weekly market where you can buy all the usual fruits, vegetables, clothing, CDs, etc. ... although an ever expanding section of the market is devoted to selling souvenirs to tourists.Hard to believe, but a month has whizzed by and I'm about to be on my way home again.
