Les jours passent a Mexico entre chez la tante Michèle et le père a Marie. Le ranch est situe tout près de Valle de Bravo, un petit village colonial, que nous visitons en arrivant. ... El rancho esta situado muy cerca de Valle de Bravo, un pueblito colonial que visitamos llegando. ... I was planning to stay home and work on this journal, among other things, but the order of the tours here was reversed. So, we loaded the tour bus early, and headed into the traffic of Mexico City to see the basilica. ... In fact, we left snow in Indiana on January 17th, had rain in Chetumal on February 12th, and now rain in Mexico City area on March 12th. ... The plan today is to make our way to Toluca, which is on the opposite side of Mexico City. ... The reason we are going to Toluca is to get a set of tires and brakes shoes at the BMW shop there. ... We have had some days where the directions were not sufficient or correct. The town of Teotihuacan is very small, and again we made a mess of the traffic. ... Everything we had read and heard about Mexico City had warned us of the pollution, the traffic congestion and the high crime rate. ... We weren’t at all sure we even wanted to subject ourselves to the worst Mexico has to offer, but we needed to go to the capital in order to get a direct, and reasonably affordable flight to South America. ... The Lonely Planet had warned us of all the serious problems awaiting visitors to Mexico City, but also said ‘its bark is worse than its bite’. ... When we mentioned to the Pita, of Casa de Pita, that we were heading to Mexico City eventually, she told us that Thomas operated a Casa of his own in La Condessa, a trendy part of the city. ... We did have the mobile we bought in India with us, hoping that although it couldn’t be used in Canada or the US, it might work in Mexico. ...
