I was planning to stay home and work on this journal, among other things, but the order of the tours here was reversed. So, we loaded the tour bus early, and headed into the traffic of Mexico City to see the basilica. ... In fact, we left snow in Indiana on January 17th, had rain in Chetumal on February 12th, and now rain in Mexico City area on March 12th. ... Everything we had read and heard about Mexico City had warned us of the pollution, the traffic congestion and the high crime rate. ... We weren’t at all sure we even wanted to subject ourselves to the worst Mexico has to offer, but we needed to go to the capital in order to get a direct, and reasonably affordable flight to South America. ...
