I spent a little time with a map, just trying to get orientated and it didn’t take long before I realized I was staying pretty much in the middle of things. Our first night in Puerto Vallarta seemed an endless walk between different sounds of Mexican music. ... Writing our trip journal as we made our way through South America was not only therapeutic and fun, but it cleared our fuzzy memories and enhanced them when we revisited our own site so many times we could not count. People often ask me what on earth I do for five months in a small place like Puerto Vallarta and I am usually at a loss to answer honestly. ... Mar 28, 2009 - Banderas Bay

We are back in Banderas Bay and specifically back in the marina at Nuevo Vallarta. We left the next day around 10:30 AM for our overnight trip back to Banderas Bay / Puerto Vallarta. ... But after about 4 ½ hours going dead into 20-25 knot winds with gusts to 32 plus 10-12 foot seas that were only seconds apart causing us to rise and crash continuously getting soaked every other splash down we chose to turn around and head back to Chamela.We are back in Banderas Bay and specifically back in the marina at Nuevo Vallarta. I decided to stay the last night in Puerto Vallarta at the Marina so as to be near the airport for my early morning departure. ... I'd trolled around on-line looking for a hotel that didn't suck my wallet dry (seems like hotels in this area think they're offering a terrific deal at the USD$200/night range, with many offering rooms over $300) but I only wanted a bed for the night - not a resort experience.I decided to stay the last night in Puerto Vallarta at the Marina so as to be near the airport for my early morning departure. ...
