We got up fairly early, packed and took a cab over to the BMW shop. With the traffic it took quite a while to get there but by 9:30 AM we were at the shop ready to load the bike and take off. The only barrier was the dealer getting the warranty approval from Mexico City. It had not yet come through. They had to go through their process first. It should not be too long. Feb 3, 2008 - Visits to the Orphanage Part 1

So far we have made several visits to the orphanage. It is 8 Km from our campsite on the South side of the lake, so it takes us roughly 8 minutes to get there. The children are wonderful, and we have made good friends with some of the other voluneers and especially with the 2 nuns that run it. Madre Maria is the chief nun and the 'chief mother' to all the children. Madre Patty took her final vows last week and is now officiall "Madre'. She seems to be in charge of the younger children. Jan 23, 2008 - Still trying to catch up

We took off again and made our way through still more desert. We misunderstood directions and thought that we could do shopping in the thriving metropolis of WHY, a town near the border. Well,WHY? you might ask? A gas station, a small store and not much else. So we filled up, talked to another RVr and some US troops and set off again until we came to the border crossing at Lukeville.
