Feb 11, 2009 - Just another annoying POLICEMAN
Arriving in Acapulco is interesting, as you go into a very long tunnel through the mountain and head straight for the beach drive. ... David and I had planned to go there on our honeymoon, but due to the fact Acapulco is really a working port and there had been a oil spill, and the beaches were a mess, so we cancelled that and never did get there. ... Therefore, I didn't want to stay in the new 5 star hotel area, I was interested in the OLD Acapulco, so we were headed up to the far end. ... We went down to the Fuerte San Diego, and saw the museum of when Acapulco was a major trading port with the Phillipines (who were also under Spanish rule). ...

Just a quick update that we are still in Mexico, and have not had great connections at the last few places (OR non at all). Have been to Cueranava, Taxco and Acapulco and climbed more pyramids too. ...
