Tropical storm, earthquake, torrential downpours… another week in Mexico! The weather has been mental; when tropical storm Rick hit Mexico last Wednesday it didn’t stop raining, which is very unusual for Colima! The drainage system is non-existent as it doesn’t happen very often, so I found myself wading through water to get to the bus stop! I even lost my shoe in the road at one point which was quite embarrassing! Classes have been good this week with more people wanting to practise their English, and some who can speak well, but are desperate to pick up my British accent! I suggested to them to watch any Hugh Grant film if that’s all they want to improve! I also went out with some students this week to a car racing event in an airfield! It was so random, with people just sitting in the stands watching cars race along the runway! But it was a good opportunity to meet more people and see something different! In the evening we went back to the bar on the beach with some Aussies we met at the hostel! I don’t think the people at the bar were too impressed that they had to keep it open all night just for us, and were chucking us out by the end! Monday we chilled by the pool all day before we had to head back to our different cities.Tropical storm, earthquake, torrential downpours… another week in Mexico!
